Rhys is now bottle fed, i tried to breast feed and managed 2 1/2 weeks before admitting defeat, just wasn't for me. I have to say i agree with everyone who says a happy mum is a happy baby and vice versa its soo true.x

Re: breast or bottle
with Lucy now aged 6, she had about 6wks of breastfeeding then we started her on bottle. with Eva i was hoping to be one of these super mums who still BF 9 month down the line.... however that wasnt meant to be, Eva turned out to be a hungry baby and i was beginning to feel like daisy the cow. needless to say Eva is now on bottles full time and thriving well.

Evie's breastfed, had only planned to breastfeed until she was 6 weeks, but have got on really well with it, so am still breastfeeding. She has 1 bottle of formula just before bed, as wanted to get her used to a bottle early too, so that I know that she will take one when i decide to wean her off breastfeeding. x

Re: breast or bottle
Hi, I had intended to breast feed but my little boy Connor was whisked away to special care a couple of hours after he was born so I never got the chance to get started. I was asked to express so he could be tube fed which I did but as he got better and required more fluid they started cup feeding him. We tried him on the breast but his breathing issues meant he couldn't suck and breathe at the same time so he got distressed. We were told he couldn't come home until he had established feeding and put on weight so I asked them to stop the cup feeding and give it to him in a bottle - sod nipple confusion I just wanted him at home with me!. I couldn't express enough for a whole days feeds (I was knackered travelling to and from hospital and just couldn't express 6-8 times a day) I asked them to give half breast milk/half formula. I tried him at the breast again but he always got stressed and to be honest so did I! I carried on expressing as long as I could but I gave up this week.
Connor is happy and so am I and that's whats important.

Niamh's bottle fed too - she's on nutramigen at the moment as they think she's allergic to cow's milk, as my son is too... I breast-fed for 5 days, but her suck was so strong, I was in too much pain!

Emilys on cow and gate stage 1 during the day and has a bottle of cow and gate hungry milk before bed as she seems hungrier at night. With hungry milk she will sleep thru but with normal she is waking every two hours!

I tried to breastfeed just after Charlie was born but it seemed he wasnt getting anything and we just couldnt get our heads round it, so we decided to bottle feed and he now has 7oz bottles every 4 hours, at the minute he is on cow & gate stage 1 but thinking of moving him onto hungrier baby milk shortly
